1322811 Photometric analysis UNION CARBIDE CORP 8 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 47959/70 Heading G4H [Also in Division G1] A device for the photometric analysis of a number of liquid samples contained in chambers 14 in a rotatable disc 10 comprises a light source 18 and a photo-detector 20 for measuring the light absorbence of each sample as it is rotated through the light beam and a magnetic memory 26 rotatable with the disc. Each chamber contains a reagent and a sample so that as the disc is rotated by a motor 16 the reagents and samples are mixed and the mixtures fed to cuvets 12 through which the light beam passes. The data obtained for each sample is fed via a data processing and print out unit 22 and read-write heads 24 to the magnetic memory 26. The rotation of the memory with the disc enables synchronization of each set of data for a given sample. The data obtained from an initial scan of the cuvets is subtracted in a serial adder from the data obtained when the reaction is complete and fed to the memory.
