Zusammenfassung:Bis-(n-methyl-n-(l-adamantyl)-aminoethyl)succinate di-iodomethylate. F3A. Is a new compound of formula: and comprises colourless crystals, of mol. wt. 784.59. The compound has a non-depolarising curane-type action of short duration. It has low toxicity and may be used in anaesthetics. It is prepared by reacting N-methyl-N-(1-adamantyl) amine with ethylene oxide, and with the aid of the N-methyl-N-(1-adamantyl)-N-(beta-hydroxyethyl)amine thus obtained, the transesterification is effected of dialkyl succinate in the presence of an alkali alcoholate at 80-120 degrees C. The resulting bis-/ N-methyl-N-(1-adamantyl) aminoethyl) succinate formed is then treated with methyl iodide and the desired cpd. isolated.
