1278702 Electrophotographic composition RANK XEROX Ltd 20 Aug 1969 [22 Aug 1968] 41586/69 Heading H1K An electrophotographic composition comprises a photoconductive quinacridone pigment and a binder, the pigment having the formula wherein R is CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , OCH 3 , OC 2 H 5 , a halogen or mixtures thereof and R1 is an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, an alicylic group or mixtures thereof. In the specific embodiments R is CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , Br, Cl or OCH 3 and R1 is pyridyl. The binder is preferably copolystyrene-butadiene, methyl phenyl silicone resin, copoly vinyl chloride/acetate or polyvinylcarbazole. The composition is used to form an electrophotographic plate which may be self-supporting or formed on a support of Al, steel, brass, glass coated with metal or SnO, plastics or paper. If an epoxy resin is used as binder it is cured in situ.
