Zusammenfassung:1-(4'-beta-acylaminoethylsulphonyl)phenyl)-3-aryl-DELTA2-pyrazoli- nes where R = opt. subst. aryl (esp. phenyl or p-chlorophenyl), Y = -CO- or -SO2-, R' = H, C is not >20 alkyl, opt. subst. aryl or aralkyl grp. and R2 = low alkyl, cycloalkyl, opt. subst. aryl or styryl. - Products are colourless or pale yellow materials useful as UV absorbers for paper, optical brighteners for fibres and textiles, e.g. of cotton, polyacrylonitrile, cellulose 2 1/2- and 3-acetate, etc., with good resistance to hypochlorite treatment. They may also be used as additives to spinning masses and to plastics materials such as polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene etc., fibres, films etc.
