A ventilating pulverizing mill for coal and other materials comprises a cylindrical housing 4 having disposed therein a crushing rotor 2, 3 to which an inlet shaft 1 leads, and a distributor 5 for receiving the pulverised material. A choke plate 7 may be provided between the housing and the distributor. The distributor is provided with a number of outlets (6) Fig. 2 (not shown) corresponding to the number of furnace burners to be supplied. In a modification, the crushing rotor rotates about a horizontal axis.
