A device for damping wind-induced vibrations comprises a rigid elongate channel member secured to the line. As shown, the member consists of a pair of curved sheet metal members 12, 14 mounted back-to-back and secured to tubes 16, 18 and 17, 19 and end plates 20, 22. The damping is improved by spacing the upper pair 16, 17 of tubes further apart than the lower pair 18, 19.
