Verfahren zur Herstellung von Monoazofarbstoffen

The invention comprises reactive monoazo dyes of formula wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C4 alkyl radical which may be substituted, X is a chlorine or bromine atom, Y is an o-carboxyphenylamino radical which contains a second -COOH or -SO3H group, one of Z and Z1 is a hydrogen atom and the other an -SO3H group and n is 0, 1 or 2. The dyes are prepared (a) by condensing equimolar amounts of cyanuric chloride or bromide, an appropriate aminoazo dye and substituted anthranilic acid or (b) coupling a diazotized 2-aminonaphthalene-disulphonic acid with a condensation product obtained as in (a) but replacing the aminoazo dye component by a 1-amino-8-naphthol disulphonic acid. The dyes are used to colour cellulose materials in bluish-red shades by the usual reactive dye processes.
