Zusammenfassung: | 1,129,560. Alarm clocks. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug.19, 1966 [Sept.23, 1965], No.37172/66. Heading G3T. An alarm clock includes a control shaft 26 which may be rotated by a knob between an alarmoff and an alarm-set position, a cam 29 controlling the position of a shutter 66 which, in the alarmset position, is moved away from a lamp 38 to enable a spot of light to illuminate a translucent dial thereby indicating that the alarm is set to operate at a pre-set time. In the alarm-set position the cam 29 is rotated anti-clockwise by the knob so that an arm 54 rotates a cylindrical hub 42 against the restraint of a spring 58. The hub is made of plastics and is force fitted on a post 6. An arm 64 attached to the hub moves the shutter 66 away from the lamp and an alarm striker is released from engagement with a lever 20 by rotation of a lever 22 to enable the alarm to operate at the pre-set time. When the knob is rotated to the alarm-off position a surface 29" of the cam 29 moves upwardly thereby allowing the arm 54 and the shutter 66 to rotate clockwise so that the shutter prevents the spot of light from appearing on the dial. |
