[Also in Divisions G2-G3] A film cartridge of the type disclosed in 26873/68 and Specification 1,234,812, comprises a casing 31 in two halves 34, 35 hinged at 32 and latched at 33, there being guiding and constraining rails or flanges 43 extending inwardly from the peripheral wall of the two halves to engage the film coil 38, this wall having an elongated opening 46 in the base of casing 34 to admit the pick-up and coil driving mechanisms. The casing 31 need not be of the clamshell form shown, nor in hinged halves. A notch 300 is indicative of whether the film has a magnetic or optical sound track and is sensed by a finger 302 of the projector.
