A solution of polyethylene in p-xylene is applied to oriented polyoxyethylene and the p-xylene is evaporated to form an oriented coating of polyethylene. The substrate may be in the form of a disc, film or filament. Alternate layers of polyethylene and polyoxyethylene may be applied.
