Zusammenfassung:The invention comprises (a) a process for preparing compounds of formula wherein R is alkyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, and x is 2 or 3, by contacting vapours of RCONH(CH2)x-OH with SiO2, Al2O3, SiO2-Al2O3 or SiO2-MgO at 150 DEG C. or above, and (b) compounds of the above formula wherein R is C2- 7 alkyl and x = 3. Starting materials I are prepared by reacting NH2(CH2)x-OH with RCO2R1 (R1=H or alkyl).
