Zusammenfassung: | 1,143,731. Quaternated azo dyes. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 24 May, 1966 [24 May, 1965], No. 23217/66. Addition to 1,073,227. Heading C4P. The invention comprises quaternated azo dyes of the general formula wherein V is a substituted or unsubstituted vinylene group or o-phenylene group; R 2 is an unsubstituted or substituted phenylene group; R 1 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, or monocyclic aryl group of the benzene series; R 3 is a straight or branched-chain alkylene group, e.g. having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 4 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, Y represents the atoms necessary to complete a dicarboximido group and A is an anion. Y may comprise carbon atoms optionally containing N, O or S atoms and may form snecin-imido-, phthalimido-, maleimido, citraconimido, 3,5-morpholindione or a hydantoin group. They are prepared by quaternating the corresponding monoazo dye optionally in presence of a solvent using conventional quaternating agents. The dyes give blue, green and violet shades on acrylonitrile polymers and copolymers with vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, vinyl pyridine and acrylamides. |
