Zusammenfassung: | The invention comprises water-insoluble mono-azo dyestuffs of the formula A-N = N-B in which A represents a benzene residue or a heterocyclic residue and B represents a benzene residue containing a p amino group, the amino group being substituted by an aralkyl group free from basic groups and by a cyanoalkyl group, a carboalkoxy alkyl group whose alkyl group is unsubstituted, a carbamidoalkyl or cyanoalkoxyalkyl group. The dyes are prepared by conventional azo coupling methods. The dyes are used to colour polyester materials in orange, red, blue and brown shades (see Division D1). missing page 226ALSO:Polyethylene terephthalate fabric are dyed or printed in orange, red, blue and brown shades, using water-insoluble dyes of the general formula in which Y is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano, carboalkoxy or alkylsulphone; Z is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, cyano or trifluoromethyl; X is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy; Y1 is hydrogen halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or acylamino and Z1 is hydrogen or an alkoxy group. Dyeing takes place (a) at 120 DEG to 130 DEG C. in a long liquor ratio or (b) the fabric is padded at 50 to 60 DEG C., dried, and then heat treated for 1 minute at 200 DEG to 220 DEG C. |
