Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A process for making heat-hardenable polyesterimides comprises reacting 10 equivalents of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid with at least one pair of carboxyl groups in ortho position to each other with from 5 to 16 equivalents of di- and/or trihydric alcohols and from 5.5 0.5 equivalents of di-primary amines, amino acids and/or hydroxyamines, where for every 10 equivalents of difunctional compounds there are from 4 to 20, preferably from 6 to 15 equivalents of polyfunctional compounds, at temperatures of up to 250 DEG C., if desired in the presence of solvents and/or carriers, the reaction being continued until the product becomes clear. Dicarboxylic acids may be present in the reaction mixture. An ester of zirconic or titanic acid in an amount to provide 0.1 to 0.2 gram of titanium or zirconium for every 100 gram of the polyesterimide may be present in the reactants or may be reacted with the polyesterimide. The carboxylic acids may be wholly or partially replaced by their anhydrides or lower alkyl esters thereof. Specified carboxylic acids are trimellitic, pyromellitic and terephthalic acid. Specified polyols are ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, 1: 2-propanediol, 2: 2-dimethyl-1: 3-propane diol, 4: 41-bis(hydroxyethoxy) diphenyl dimethyl methane, glycerine, trimethylol propane, trimethylol ethane and mixtures thereof. Specified amino compounds are phenylene diamine, 4: 41-diamino diphenyl, 4: 41-diamino diphenyl-methane, 4: 41-diamino dicyclohexyl-methane, 4: 41-diamino diphenyl ethers, diamino diphenyl sulphones, aminobenzoic acids, aminoethanol and amino phenols.
