Zusammenfassung: | Unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid esters are prepared from the aldehyde corresponding to the acid by reacting with an organic hydroperoxide in the presence of a non-tertiary alkanol (with up to 12 C atoms) and a redox agent. The redox agent is a compound of an element having an atomic number of 22 to 28, 50, 58 and 82, namely cobalt, manganese, tin, cesium, nickel, lead, titanium, chromium and vanadium and preferably iron. Many hydroperoxides are listed and t-butyl hydroperoxide is preferred. Examples describe the preparation of methyl methacrylate from methacrolein and t.-butylhydroperoxide in the presence of methanol with an iron, cesium, cobalt, manganese, titanium, chromium or tin compound as redox agent. |
