Zusammenfassung:	UV absorbant high molecular polyamides having improved light stability are obtained when a 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole compound which, in at least one side chain contains at least one condensable carboxyl group or at least one condensable aliphatically or cycloaliphatically bound amino group or condensable groups reacting in the same way which are derived from these carboxyl or amino groups is reacted at temperatures of 150 DEG -350 DEG C with polycondensable amide forming monomers or with polycondensates thereof to form polycarbonamides.
