Verfahren zur Herstellung neuer Äther

A composition for treating polyploid plants comprises a compound of the formula and/or a compound of the formula in which R represents an alkyl group containing at least 2 carbon atoms in admixture or in conjunction with a suitable carrier. The composition may be in the form of a solution, suspension or emulsion and applied to the plant as a spray, by brushing, as an ointment, or by dipping the plant in a solution thereof.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds having the formulae: in which 'R' represents an alkyl radical, pharmaceutical preparations thereof, animal feedstuffs containing said compounds, compositions containing them for treating polyploid plants (see Division C1), and a process for the manufacture thereof wherein D 6-dehydro-des-(acetylamino)-colchiceine is reacted with a diazoalkane and, if desired, any resulting mixture of isomeric ethers is separated. Said preparations are administered enterally parenterally, or locally in tablets, dragees, ointments, creams or capsules or in liquid form solutions, suspensions or emulsions. In veterinary medicine said compounds may be incorporated in animal fodder.
