Zusammenfassung: | Propylene dimer is obtained from propylene by contacting the latter at a temperature of at least 550 DEG F., and at superatmospheric pressure with a weakly acidic silica-alumina catalyst having ion-exchange characteristics. The catalyst is preferably prepared by contacting an acidic silica-alumina having ion-exchange characteristics with a basic aqueous solution (e.g. of sodium carbonate) and washing the contacted catalysts until the washings are neutral. |
