Zusammenfassung: | A process for the aftertreatment of phosphatized metal surfaces to improve the corrosion resistance thereof comprises treating said surface with an aqueous and/or alcoholic solution containing (1) at least one monomeric alkene phosphonic acid (e.g. allyl, vinyl or propene phosphonic acid) and (2) at least one macromolecular compound of vinyl phosphonic acid and/or a derivative thereof and/or a polymer which contains an acid group but which is free from phosphorus, the metal surfaces then being dried (e.g. at 80-200 DEG C.). The macromolecular compound may be a homopolymer of vinyl phosphonic acid, a copolymer of an acid derivative of vinyl phosphonic acid (e.g. semi ester thereof with acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or amides, nitriles or esters of these, maleic acid anhydride or crotonic acid). The ratio of monomer to polymer is preferably in the range 98:2 to 20:80 and the total amount of monomer + polymer is less than 10% by weight, preferably 0.008-2%. A wetting agent may be added to the treating solution. The treatment time may be from 3 seconds to 3 minutes at a temperature of 4-70 DEG C. Specification 961,220 is referred to.ALSO:A process for the aftertreatment of phosphatized metal surfaces, e.g. steel plates, to improve the corrosion resistance thereof comprises treating said surface e.g. by dipping or spraying with an aqueous and/or alcoholic solution containing (1) at least one monomeric alkene phosphonic acid (e.g. allyl, vinyl or propene phosphonic acid), and (2) at least one macromolecular compound of vinyl phosphonic acid and/or a derivative thereof and/or a polymer which contains an acid group but which is free from phosphorus, the metal surfaces then being dried (e.g. at 80-200 DEG C.).
