Verfahren zur Herstellung von Alkoxyalkyl-hydrazonen

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula in which R is a 5-nitro-2-furyl or p-nitrophenyl radical; R1 is an alkyl carbamy-alkyl or alkoxycarbonylalkyl radical; R2 is an alkyl group; and R3 is a 5-nitro-2-furyl, phenyl or p-nitrophenyl radical with the proviso that when R3 is phenyl R is always a 5-nitro-2-furyl radical and-the preparation thereof by reacting, in the presence of an alkanol and a mineral acid, 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde, benzaldehyde or p-nitro-benzaldehyde with a hydrazine derivative of the formula BNNHR1, where B is H2 or a 5-nitro-2-furyliden radical, B always being a 5-nitro-2-furylidene radical when the aldehyde is benzaldehyde. Chemotherapeutic compositions comprise the compounds of the invention together with a pharmacologically acceptable carrier or diluent. The compositions may be administered as creams, ointments, solutions and suppositories to inhibit infective bacteria and fungi; orally in poultry feeds to combat coccidiosis or as a food premix for incorporation in poultry feeds; or orally as an anthelmintic.
