Zusammenfassung:	1358867 Oxidation catalyst K Y U S H U TAIKA RENGA KK and G YAMAGUCMI 19 April 1971 [6 March 1971] 24916/71 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions Cl and F1] An oxidation catalyst composition comprises: (a) an alkali polyaluminate which is #'-alumina (R 2 O.7-8 Al 2 O 3 where R=Na or K) or #"- alumina (R 2 O.5-6 Al 2 O 3 ); or (b) a mixture of the alkali polyaluminate with other refractory material, the mixture containing not less than 0.5% wt. (calculated as K 2 O or Na 2 O) of the alkali polyaluminate; and, optionally, (c) one or more of Pd, Pt, Co, Mn, Cr, Ni, Cu, Fe, V, Ag or Sn or their compounds. In the Examples, #'-alumina is formed by calcining aluminium hydroxide and potassium carbonate in the ratio 8:1 at 1400C and #"-alumina is formed by calcining the same materials in the ratio 6:1 at 1480C.
