Zusammenfassung:1368478 Antibiotic T-24146 TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO KK 14 Dec 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 57946/71 Heading C2A The new antibiotic T-24146, obtained by aerobic cultivaton of Streptomyces viridochromogenes (IFO 13188) is characterized by the following properties: Elementary analysis, C=71À16 to 72À68%, H=6À41 to 7À01%, N= 2À35 to 2À67%, 0=17À11 to 18À48%; Melting point, 168‹ to 173‹ C. (decomp.); Molecular weight, 535Œ50 (osmotic method), 550 (titration method); Specific rotation, [α]25 D = + 872Œ80 degrees (C=0À5% in CHCl 3 ); U.V. absorption, # max = 309-310 mÁ (in MeOH), E1% 1cm =1779 to 2180 (see Fig. 1); I.R. absorption, 3470, 3340, 3000, 2910, 1650, 1610, 1510, 1450, 1385, 1300, 1250, 1218, 1175, 1125, 1040, 987 and 960 cm.-1 (see Fig. 2); pKa=8À7 to 9À1 (in H 2 O/DMS); colour pale yellow to white; soluble in chloroform, ethyl acetate, methanol (slightly), acetone, diethyl ether and benzene, almost insoluble in water, hexane and petroleum ether. The antibiotic may be obtained from the culture filtrate and the mycelium by extration with a suitable solvent, and is purified by evaporating to dryness, re-solution, chromatography on silica gel or alumina and precipitated or crystallized from the final solution by addition of a non- solvent. Pharmaceutical compositions having antibacterial and anti-protozoal activity comprise Antibiotic T-24146 together with a non-toxic physiologically acceptable carrier or diluent.
