1308277 Sulphonylated aryl hydrazino-2- imidazolines BAYER AG 23 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970 12 May 1971] 39395/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and salts thereof, in which R1 is hydroxyl; a straight or branched chain alkyl radical with 1-18 carbon atoms which may be substituted with F, Cl, Br, OH, alkyloxy, alkylthio, or optionally substituted aryl, aryloxy or arylthio with 6-10 carbon atoms in the aryl component; an alkenyl radical with 2-8 carbon atoms; a cycloaliphatic radical with 3-6 carbon atoms; a phenyl radical which may be substituted with one or more of F, Cl, Br, carboxyl, carboxyalkyl, OH, NO 2 , alkyl, alkyloxy, alkylthio, alkenyl with 2-4 carbon atoms, phenyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, or acylamino with 2-4 carbon atoms; or a naphthyl radical; and R2 is one or more of H, F, Cl, Br, NO 2 , carboxyl, OH, carboxyalkyl, alkyloxy, alkyl or trifluoromethyl. The compounds may be prepared by reacting the corresponding phenylhydrazino- 2-imidazoline with R1-SO 2 -X where X is F, Cl, or Br. Salts may be formed using hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulphuric, carboxylic, or sulphonic acids. The compounds are acaricides.
