1306829 Heating storage batteries I A OSTRYAKOV V I KOTOVSKY N M EMELYANOV M M DIZHUR V V TITOV and V A SCHEDRIN 14 July 1970 34016/70 Heading H1B [Also in Division H5] A storage battery, particularly of the leadacid type, comprises electric heaters lying in or between the electrodes plates, the heaters being in the form of a system of loops of insulated integrated wire without intermediate contacts and connections, the loops being arranged in planes which are parallel to the planes of the plates. As shown in Fig. 2 heater 5 in the form of an insulated conductor is wound in the slots of separator 6 placed between electrodes 3, 4. In another embodiment the heater is directly embedded in the separator. The leads from the heaters in each cell are connected via a common connector to an external source or to the battery terminals.
