COMMINUTION APPARATUS FOR COMMINUTING A SOLIDS-CONTAINING MEDIUM AND A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A COMMINUTION APPARATUS

Comminution apparatus (1) for comminuting a solids-containing medium, the comminution apparatus (1) comprising: a rotatably mounted drive shaft (10), which can be coupled to a drive apparatus (40) to drive a cutting apparatus (20), the cutting apparatus (20) having a first cutting element (21), comprising at least one first cutting edge, and a second cutting element (22), comprising at least one second cutting edge, wherein the first cutting element (21) and the second cutting element (22) are movable relative to one another in such a way that the relative movement brings about a shearing action between the at least one first cutting edge and the at least one second cutting edge, wherein the at least one first cutting element (21) is connected fixedly in terms of torque to the drive shaft (10) and is movable on a first movement path relative to the second cutting element (22), characterized in that the comminution apparatus (1) is designed with the possibility, during operation, of opera-tion in a first operating mode and at least in a second operating mode different from the first operating mode to comminute the solids-containing medium.
