Zusammenfassung:	A process and an apparatus for mixing a food product for farm animals intended to be employed in intensive farming of animals to automatically mix nutrient elements of the food product. The process comprises mixing a food product and detecting a first and a second sequence of electromagnetic spectra to acquire corresponding sets of detected data. The process also comprises a first calculation step of principal components by means of Principal Component Analysis of the first set of detected data to select a first principal component, a second calculation of a second modified data set, comprising first principal component values, by means of Principal Component Analysis of the second set of detected data, and a calculation of a confidence interval of the first principal component values, which is compared with the first principal component values to efficiently stop the mixing when the nutrient elements are uniformly mixed.
