Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a paper or paperboard substrate having barrier properties, which substrate comprises a single or multiply structure with e.g. a top ply, a middle ply and a bottom ply, wherein at least one of said top ply and said bottom ply is provided with a high-density bio-barrier layer, and wherein said top or bottom ply provided with the high-density bio-barrier layer and said top or bottom ply not provided with the high-density bio-barrier layer have both been subjected to grafting with a fatty acid halide. La présente invention concerne un substrat de papier ou de carton ayant des propriétés de barrière, ledit substrat comprenant une structure unique ou multipli avec, par exemple, une couche supérieure, une couche intermédiaire et une couche inférieure, au moins l'une parmi ladite couche supérieure et ladite couche inférieure étant pourvue d'une couche barrière biologique haute densité, et ladite couche supérieure ou inférieure comportant la couche barrière biologique haute densité et ladite couche supérieure ou inférieure non pourvue de la couche de barrière biologique haute densité ayant toutes deux été soumises à un greffage avec un halogénure d'acide gras.
