Zusammenfassung: | Although air-to-air regenerative heat and/or moisture recovery ventilators exhibit high effectiveness, their need for actuators that continuously change the position of a heat exchanger or the direction of fluid-flow increases manufacturing cost and shortens equipment life. To overcome these challenges, a damper-free regenerative heat and moisture recovery ventilator that is capable of transferring heat and/or moisture between different air streams is presented. The invention uses a pair of shell-and-tube-type heat exchangers that are modularly integrated with two fans which are, in turn, controlled by a power system. The fans are synchronized to intermittently move air through the heat exchanger in fixed directions. The surfaces of the internal components of the heat exchangers may be modified for enhanced heat and moisture transfer. With additional adjustments to the power system and fans, the invention can be configured for heat, moisture and electricity recovery. |
