Zusammenfassung:A placement device (11) is used to place a catheter (76) into a body. The placement device (11) is provided with: an insertion section (12) which is flexible, enables observation of the distal end side, and is inserted into and removed from the catheter (76); a transmission section (36) which has a first connection section (38) detachably connected to the proximal end of the insertion section (12) and which transmits either an image obtained by observation by the insertion section (12) or a signal converted from the image; and a supply member (61) into which the insertion section (12) is removably inserted and to which the proximal end of the catheter (76) is removably mounted. The supply member (61) is provided with: a supply section body (62) into which the insertion section (12) is inserted; and a protrusion (63) which is formed from an elastic material on the inner peripheral surface of the supply section body (62) along the entire circumference thereof, and which tightly holds the insertion section (12) so that the insertion section (12) is slidable. A through-hole (62a) is formed in the inner peripheral surface of the supply section body (62) at a position closer to the distal end side than the protrusion section (63). The through-hole (62a) is in communication with the inside of the supply section body (62) at a position closer to the distal end side than the protrusion section (63).
