La présente invention se rapporte à des particules d'hydroxyde de calcium présentant un volume poreux total supérieur à 0,18cm³/g, ledit volume poreux total étant calculé selon la méthode BJH pour une gamme de pores ayant un diamètre compris entre 20 et 1000 Å, lesdites particules étant caractérisées en ce que le volume poreux partiel BJH pour la gamme de pores ayant un diamètre compris entre 20 et 100 Å correspond à plus de 20% dudit volume poreux total BJH.
