Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus for inspection of a hostile or harsh environment which is harmful or dangerous for human beings is provided. The apparatus has a plurality of image sensors positioned with different orientations with respect to each other, so as to detect image data or a plurality of images in sequence of the environment. The plurality of sensors detect contemporaneous image data of at least 60% of 4n steradians of the environment and are housed in a protective shell. The apparatus further comprises stable positioning means, destined for positioning the sensorized device always in a same, pre-determined position of the hostile or harsh environment during subsequent inspections. Also provided is a method for inspecting the environment using the apparatus to acquire image data in a predetermined position in the environment and compare with other sets of image data acquired at a different time to recognize pattern differences. L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil d'inspection d'un environnement hostile comprenant un dispositif (26) à capteurs comportant à son tour une pluralité de capteurs d'image (42, 44, 46, 48) positionnés selon des orientations différentes les uns par rapport aux autres, de façon à détecter des données d'image dudit environnement hostile, un support (30) destiné à supporter ledit dispositif dans ledit environnement hostile, un moyen de traitement desdites données d'image servant à générer une image sphérique et/ou tridimensionnelle sur la base desdites données d'image, un dispositif d'affichage distant par rapport audit dispositif (26) à capteurs, destiné à être positionné à l'extérieur de l'environnement hostile et en communication avec ledit moyen de traitement des données d'image, ledit appareil destiné audit environnement hostile affichant des caractéristiques de température et/ou des contaminants atmosphériques nocifs ou dangereux pour l'homme et étant caractérisé en ce qu'une pluralité de capteurs ayant différentes orientations les uns par rapport aux autres détectent des données d'image contemporaines d'au moins 60 % de 4n stéradians dans ledit environnement hostile.
