A reception apparatus comprises: a component demultiplex unit (34) that receives an MH-AIT (141) indicating applications corresponding to respective packages; a combination unit (38) and an audio decoding unit (36) that reproduce one of the packages; and a data broadcast control unit (37) that refers to the MH-AIT (141), thereby controlling the application corresponding to the package currently reproduced.
