A CERVICAL CANAL DILATION DEVICE

The cervical canal dilation device of the present invention relates to controlled injection of liquid or gel to the cervical canal in order to obtain a desired predetermined dilation while causing the treated woman minimal discomfort. The injection of a substance having a liquid or gel characteristics into the cervical canal is done while the inner and outer orifices (internal os and external os) of the canal are sealed by two reversibly inflatable balloons, referred to as the "dilating balloons". An inflatable balloon at the tip or near the tip of the cervical canal dilation device anchors the device (in the uterine cavity linked to the internal os) to the desired position in the cervix canal for the dilation treatment. The amount of fluid or gel injected into the cervix canal can be calculated apriori to expand the width of the canal to the desired dimension. Le dispositif de dilatation du canal endocervical de la présente invention permet une injection contrôlée d'un liquide ou d'un gel en direction du canal endocervical afin d'obtenir une dilatation prédéterminée recherchée tout en faisant en sorte que la femme traitée ne ressente qu'une gêne minimale. L'injection d'une substance ayant les caractéristiques d'un liquide ou d'un gel dans le canal endocervical est effectuée tandis que les orifices interne et externe du canal sont bouchés par deux ballonnets gonflables (et dégonflables), désignés sous le nom de « ballonnets de dilatation ». Un ballonnet gonflable situé au niveau de l'extrémité du dispositif de dilatation du canal endocervival ou à proximité de celle-ci ancre le dispositif (dans la cavité utérine liée à l'orifice interne) au niveau de la position souhaitée, pour le traitement de dilatation, dans le canal endocervical. La quantité de liquide ou de gel injectée dans le canal endocervical peut être calculée a priori de façon à pouvoir entraîner un élargissement du canal jusqu'à la dimension souhaitée.
