The aqueous composition comprising carboxymethylcellulose will suppress dust generation, repel water, inhibit water seepage and retard erosion. L'invention concerne un procédé de stabilisation d'un substrat d'agrégat comprenant l'application, sur la surface supérieure du substrat, d'une composition aqueuse comprenant de la carboxyméthylcellulose ayant un faible degré de substitution. La composition aqueuse comprenant de la carboxyméthylcellulose supprime la génération de poussière, chasse l'eau, inhibe l'infiltration d'eau et retarde l'érosion.
