Miniaturized system for detecting and locating an illicit radio transmitter (10) operating in a confined closed environment, zone Z, characterized in that it comprises at least the following elements: one or more miniaturized detectors (2) furnished with an antenna (2A), which are adapted for detecting a signal emitted by the illicit radio transmitter, the or the said miniaturized detector(s) (2) are linked with one or more bidirectional relay radio transmitters (3) equipped with a transmit antenna (3A), which are adapted for sending the signalling of the signals detected to at least, a receiver (6) of a messaging radio network linked to a module (9) for processing the signals, the radio network operating on a different frequency from the frequency of operation of the illicit radio transmitter.
