During production of the cable bushing (11), a liquid coating material is applied to a surface of a foam mould and then a foam compound which contains a predetermined proportion of intumescent material is introduced into the foam mould. After foaming of the coating material, a water-impermeable skin (24) is formed on the foamed shaped body (10). L'invention concerne une traversée de câble (11) qui possède un corps façonné (10) essentiellement constitué d'un matériau expansé intumescent et comportant au moins un orifice de passage (12) pour un câble. Le contour extérieur du corps façonné (10) comporte des saillies (20), dirigées vers l'extérieur dans le sens radial, qui servent à l'ancrer dans un composant coulé (18) en formant dans celui-ci des contre-dépouilles lorsque le composant (18) est coulé. Le dispositif comprend en outre une plaque de montage (26), servant à obturer les orifices de passage (12), qui peut être reliée par embrochage axial à la traversée de câble (11). Pour fabriquer la traversée de câble (11), on dépose un matériau de revêtement liquide sur une surface d'un moule d'expansion puis on introduit dans ledit moule une matière expansible contenant une quantité prédéterminée de matériau intumescent. Après l'expansion, le matériau de revêtement est une peau (24) imperméable à l'eau formée sur le corps façonné (10) expansé.
