LOW SHEAR GAS MIXER

A gas mixer for mixing an oxygen-containing gas stream with a carbon- containing gas stream is provided. An impact labyrinth is provided with the gas mixer, in which the labyrinth has an inlet for receiving the oxygen-containing gas stream, structures forming a tortuous path through which the oxygen gas stream must pass, and an outlet. Pipes are provided for receiving the oxygen gas from the labyrinth and carrying the oxygen-containing gas to a mixing point where the oxygen-containing and hydrocarbon-containing gas streams mix in the gas mixer. The structures forming the tortuous path in the labyrinth foster ignition of particles entrained in the oxygen gas stream. Un labyrinthe dimpact est présent dans le mélangeur de gaz, dans lequel le labyrinthe comprend une entrée servant à recevoir le flux de gaz renfermant de loxygène, des structures formant un parcours sinueux dans lequel le flux de gaz à oxygène doit passer et une sortie. Des tuyaux sont présents pour recevoir le gaz à oxygène du labyrinthe et transporter le gaz renfermant de loxygène vers un point de mélange où les flux de gaz renfermant de loxygène et renfermant un hydrocarbure se mélangent dans le mélangeur de gaz. Les structures formant le parcours sinueux dans le labyrinthe favorisent lallumage de particules entraînées dans le flux de gaz à oxygène.
