Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for biologically removing sulfate and metals from mining effluents, acid mine drainages and various industrial liquid residues, wherein said method comprises at least the steps of: (a) subjecting the effluent to at least one first step of removing the metals in solution by means of biosorption with a bacterial biomass; and (b) subjecting the liquid that has previously been treated in the biosorption step to a second step of continuous removal of sulfate in an anaerobic bioreactor.
