Zusammenfassung:	This invention provides the use of a microorganism capable of improving both lipid metabolism and sugar metabolism. Specifically, the invention relates to: a lipid metabolism and/or sugar metabolism improver comprising, as an active ingredient, a bacterial cell selected from bacteria belonging to the genus Lactobacillus and the genus Bifidobacterium, a treated product of the bacterial cell, or a mixture thereof, having dual-agonistic activities to peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR).alpha. and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR).gamma.; to a food or a beverage comprising the improver; and to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the improver. La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'un micro-organisme capable de stimuler à la fois le métabolisme des lipides et le métabolisme du sucre. Plus précisément, la présente invention se rapporte à : un stimulant du métabolisme des lipides et/ou du métabolisme du sucre caractérisé en ce qu'il contient, comme principe actif, une cellule bactérienne qui présente une double activité d'agoniste sur un récepteur activé par le proliférateur de peroxisome (PPAR) a et sur un récepteur activé par le proliférateur de peroxisome (PPAR) ? et est sélectionnée à partir de bactéries appartenant au genre Lactobacillus et au genre Bifidobacterium, un produit de traitement de la cellule bactérienne ou un mélange de ces deux éléments; et un aliment, une boisson et une composition pharmaceutique contenant chacun le stimulant.
