MOBILE CHAIR, METHOD OF OPERATION ASSOCIATED THERETO, AND KIT FOR ASSEMBLING THE SAME

A mobile chair incuding a a support base, a moveable seat assembly and a self-locking assembly operable between engaged and disengaged configurations. In the engaged configuration, a first component of the self-locking assembly operatively connectable to the moveable seat assembly is engaged with a second component of the self-locking assembly operatively connectable to the support base, for immobilizing the moveable seat assembly with respect to the support base. In the disengaged configuration, the first component is disengaged from the second component for allowing displacement of the moveable seat assembly with respect to the support base. The self-locking assembly is further configured so that one of said first and second components acting as a halting component is biased into the engaged configuration by default, and the self-locking assembly is only operated into the disengaged configuration upon receiving an overriding force from a user of the mobile chair acting on a seat base of the seat assembly.
