CHAIR HAVING MOVEABLE TABLET

A chair (1) includes a base (2), a seat (4) supported on the base (2), and a support member (8) having an upper portion (12) and at least one lower portion (10) that is lower than the upper portion (12). The at least one lower portion (10) of the support member (8) is attached to at least one of the base (2) and the seat (4). The upper portion (12) of the at least one support member (8) is attached to the at least one lower portion (10). A portion of the upper portion (12) defines an offset (9a)positioned inwardly toward the seat (4) relative to other sections of the upper portion. A tablet (3) is moveably attached to the upper portion (12) such that it is moveable from a first position to a second position. The offset (9a) is positioned so it supports the tablet (3) when the tablet (3) is in the second position and transfers a substantial amount of load supported by the offset (9a) to the support member (8).
