DEVICE FOR DREDGING SOIL MATERIAL UNDER WATER

The invention relates to a device for dumping material onto an underwater bottom or installation, such as a pipeline. The device comprises a vessel (1), provided with a fall pipe (7) through which the material is dumped on the underwater bottom; a steering device (5) adapted to control the motion of the fall pipe relative to the underwater bottom; first monitoring means (30) adapted to monitor the state of the underwater bottom; second monitoring means (32) adapted to monitor the position of the steering device relative to the bottom; and computing means adapted to compute, on the basis of data obtained from the first and/or the second monitoring means, control signals for moving the steering device. The invention also relates to a method for dumping material onto an underwater bottom or installation, using the invented device, and to a computer program comprising program instructions that when loaded into a computer carries out the method. La présente invention concerne un dispositif servant à déverser des matériaux sur un fond sous-marin ou sur une installation sous-marine telle qu'un pipeline. Le dispositif comprend un navire (1), équipé d'un tuyau de descente (7) à travers lequel les matériaux sont déversés sur le fond sous-marin; un dispositif de gouverne (5) conçu pour commander le déplacement du tuyau de descente par rapport au fond sous-marin; un premier moyen de surveillance (30) conçu pour surveiller l'état du fond sous-marin; un second moyen de surveillance (32) conçu pour surveiller la position du dispositif de gouverne par rapport au fond; et un moyen de calcul conçu pour calculer, sur la base des données obtenues par le premier et/ou le second moyen de surveillance, des signaux de commande servant à déplacer le dispositif de gouverne. La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé permettant de déverser des matériaux sur un fond sous-marin ou sur une installation sous-marine, à l'aide du dispositif selon l'invention, et concerne également un programme d'ordinateur comprenant des instructions de programme qui, lorsqu'elles sont chargées dans un ordinateur, exécutent le procédé.
