Zusammenfassung: | Fuel cell vehicles can be operated in a Standby Mode which involves keeping the vehicle control system on, turning off the supply of air to the fuel cell, and turning off the fuel cell power output during a period of low vehicle power demand. In this way, when the vehicle load demand increases, the fuel cell and its auxiliaries can be restarted quickly from the Standby Mode. A method is disclosed which can extend the duration of the Standby Mode and reduce the concentration of hydrogen in the fuel cell cathode during the Standby Mode. The method comprises applying a positive voltage to the fuel cell using a power source such that a reverse current is supplied to the fuel cell and such that the fuel cell voltage is maintained at a specified level. |
