Zusammenfassung:	A system and method for tracking a vehicle includes a mobile tracking device that receives GPS data. The mobile tracking device transmits the location data to a tracking system whenever it detects certain events based on the data, such as the vehicle making a stop, resuming motion, changing direction, or exceeding a speed limit. The tracking system can associate received data on vehicle location with service calls and automatically generate an accurate bill reflecting the distance traveled to the service call and the duration of the stop.
