Zusammenfassung:	A liquid smoke ink and a method of making the smoke ink is provided. The smoke ink may be applied to a substrate and dried. The substrate may be used as a food, primarily a meat, casing. Liquid smoke is made from a dehydrated liquid smoke, which is a solid smoke. The solid smoke is dissolved in a food grade solvent to create the smoke ink. The smoke ink is applied to a substrate wherein the solvent evaporates. This leaves the smoke flavor on the substrate in an, essentially, fixed position.
