The mixer is intended for conditions in which the solution or slurry to be processed is difficult to treat and into which gas is conducted with the intention of dispersing it evenly and effectively into the solution. The method is especially suited to a hydrometallurgical process, whereby the purpose is to disperse the gas into the solution and obtain effective mixing both on the micro- and macro-level. L'invention concerne un mélangeur doté d'une capacité de pompage élevée. Ce mélangeur est conçu pour fonctionner dans des conditions dans lesquelles la solution ou la suspension épaisse est difficile à traiter et dans lesquelles un gaz est conduit dans la solution pour la disperser de façon uniforme et efficace. Le procédé selon l'invention est particulièrement adapté à un processus hydro-métallurgique visant à disperser le gaz dans la solution et à obtenir un mélange efficace à la fois sur le plan micro et macro.
