The compound capable of inhibiting a histone deac etylase has an excellent ability of changing the cytomorphology of a trabecu lara cell and/or an excellent ocular hypotensive activity, and is therefore useful as a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for a disease associated w ith aqueous humor circulation and/or ocular tension, particularly a prophyla ctic and/or therapeutic agent for glaucoma, ocular hypertension or the like.
