Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a rechargeable electrochemical battery cell with a negative electrode, an electrolyte and a positive electrode. The negative electrode has an electronically conducting substrate (12), on which an acti ve metal (24) of the negative electrode is deposited electrolytically when t he cell is charged. A porous structure (13), which contains the active mass (17) of the positive electrode, is arranged in the vicinity of the substrate (12) of the negative electrode (5) in such a way that the active metal (17) , which is deposited during charging of the cell (3), of the negative electr ode penetrates the pores (14) of the porous structure (13), which contains t he active mass of the positive electrode, and is deposited there again, at l east partially in metallic form.
