Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	The valve element includes a base layer having an aperture disposed there -through and a flexible top layer overlaying and joined to the base layer so as to cover the aperture. The base layer and top layer are further joined s o as to provide an expandable and collapsible channel between the aperture a nd an exit point on the valve element. In its normal condition, to seal clos ed the valve element, the channel is collapsed and the base and top layer ad jacent one- another. To facilitate sealing of the valve element, a semi-rigi d sealant material is provided in the channel in sealing contact with the ba se layer and the top layer. In operation, air entering the aperture displace s the top layer and expands the channel, allowing the air to pass across the semi- solid sealant material and into the environment. The valve element ma y be used with storage containers, such as food storage bags.
