Disclosed is an electrochemical device comprising an electrode assembly having a cathode, anode and an electrolyte, and a casing surrounding the electrode assembly, which further comprises a protection device to which either or both of a cathode lead for connecting a cathode with an outer terminal and an anode lead for connecting an anode with an outer terminal are connected electrically, wherein the protection device is disposed in the inner space of the casing and the electrode lead equipped with the protection device is folded at both sides of the protection device so that the largest surface of the protection device is layered on a lateral surface of the casing where the electrode lead is present. L'invention concerne un dispositif électrochimique comprenant un ensemble électrode présentant une cathode, une anode ainsi qu'un électrolyte et une enveloppe entourant l'ensemble électrode, lequel comprend également un dispositif de protection auquel est connecté électriquement un conducteur de cathode destiné à connecter une cathode à une borne extérieure et/ou un conducteur d'anode destiné à connecter une anode à une borne extérieure, le dispositif de protection est disposé dans l'espace intérieur de l'enveloppe et le conducteur d'électrode doté du dispositif de protection est plié sur les deux côtés du dispositif de protection, de manière que la surface la plus grande du dispositif de protection est disposée en couche sur la surface latérale de l'enveloppe où se trouve le conducteur d'électrode.
